Hawaii Babies

??? (BR-)PIP of the Week ???

it's only Tuesday (okay, Wednesday, 3:40am - and no baby to keep me up yet) and it's already been a rough week.  make it better by posting some cuteness please!  maybe it'll help me stay awake at work tomorrow.

ps.  boo performance review season.

pps. I didn't get a chance to respond again last week - Ericka's "buddha belly" = awesome (you're lookin' great!!), and Henry at bath time = adorableness!!

  • I don't have any bump pics (unless you want to just see a bloated stomach that's NOT cute bump), but I just received these cute little things in the mail from my MIL:

MH is a huge Notre Dame fan so he was super stoked to get these in the mail.  Our first little present for Nugget :)

  • We introduced solids over the last week - first we tried rice cereal, but ended up stopping because Dash haaaaaated it and because it gave both boys constipation. Here are Will's first bites:

Then we moved on to avocado, which they weren't initially thrilled about but are warming to - although Dash wasn't immediately sure about the taste, as you can see here:

  • omg, Vanessa - i LOVE that photo - i cannot WAIT to see the rest!!!  and now that i've committed to doing newborn photos, i have to have a hat like that...off to find your old post so i can look at that etsy seller again (is that where you ended up getting it?)

and Lisa, those photos (and the rice cereal ones) totally made me crack up, haha.

no bump photo yet this week, but here's a sweater one of my friends made for our baby:

  • thanks Sandra.  Here is the etsy vendor I got the hat from  https://www.etsy.com/listing/45469629/free-shipping-striped-multicolored-elf  I anticipated having a big boy so I ordered the hat in 0 - 3 months instead of newborn.  I ended up having a tiny little girl & the hat was pretty big for her, but it worked and now she should be able to wear it well into winter too.  Just fyi.

and that is a super cute sweater.  I wish I had crafty friends!!

i guess i should have told you...but when we first introduced rice cereal it was just a very little bit in the milk...so it was extremely soupy and not a big glob like what you are feeding there! we slowly worked our way up to a thicker consistency and even at the thickest i ever made it i don't think it was ever as thick as what i see in your pic :) but i guess it doesn't matter anyway since it caused constipation for them...

lovin' the avocado pics too LOL

It's actually not nearly as gloppy as it looks there - Ben gave him a great big spoonful (I keep telling him less *sigh*) and it all came out at the same time, so I think it's just the way it photographed. In reality it was more like milk. I even thin out the avocado with formula a bit. Smile But yeah, since the rice cereal made them so constipated I'm not really worrying about it anymore.
