DD has a VERY swollen mosquito bite on her eyebrow!

DD got a mosquito bite last night and up until tonight it looked normal, then this evening it swelled up pretty big. It's right above her eye on her brow bone. Should I be concerned? Should I put something on it?

  • you could put an ice pack on it for a little while and it should help to reduce the swelling, plus, you could put some afterbite on it so it doesn't itch

  • DS has gotten mosquito bites and they get HUGE! Most recently, he had 2 bites on his lower leg and they seemed to get swollen pretty fast. However, they never bothered him and that was that. I am super prone to insect bites, so I wasn't surprised when her got bitten, but since they don't bother him, they don't bother me!

  • My DS recently had 11 bites, yes ELEVEN, on his face. He looked terrible. I had used family care insect repellent on his clothing and legs but didn't get it on his face for obvious reasons. Walked around the front of the house to move the sprinkler while he played on the deck with my oldest and when I came back his face had mosquitos all over it. Crying

I had to use benadryl bc he was so swollen and itchy. And I also dabbed them with Cortaid.

He just got another one on his knee a couple of nights ago. Not only is it swollen and red, it is hot to the touch. He keeps showing me his knee and repeating 'knee, knee knee' over and over again. I am using an ice pack a few minutes per day and Cortaid.

  • This happened to DD earlier in the summer and all we could do was ice it.  We also had 2 different bites on her knee and foot that were swollen, red and hot and the pedi had to put her on an antibiotic for the one on her knee.
