The only night I tried not drinking as much water before going to bed, I woke up at 3:30 with severe pain. Lesson learned...a trip to the bathroom is much more desirable than pain and contractions.
If I don't drink past 8pm, I usually don't have any, or maybe one, bathroom trip after I go to bed. I lay down around 11 most nights, and go right before I lay down. I don't drink past 8, except for just enough juice or water to swallow my prenatal vitamin.
ETA: I'm having a fairly uneventful pregnancy, no BH, no contractions, so not drinking doesn't bother me at this stage of the game. I drink water all day long so I stay pretty well hydrated.
I think it is all a luck of how your body works for the water. I have had water just before I went to bed (like seconds before) and didn't wake up to pee at any time during the night.
I tried not drinking at night & I still go to the bathroom as many times, BUT I feel very dehydrated when I tried that. So, I have water when I feel like it, and a bottle on the night stand which I drink (16 oz) every night. So, I wake up feeling better & when I get up to pee I'm just there a little bit longer. Honestly, I think I sleep BETTER when I drink water at night. /shrug.
Nope. It is way too hot here to think about not drinking up until the second I am in bed (and several times throughout the night when I wake up hot or wake up to pee). I don't mind peeing 2-3 times a night, I'm used to it.
Best birthday gift ever from Mr Techie was the mini fridge that now serves as a night stand in the bedroom. I have cold water and ice packs a few steps away all night long.
I get up to pee no matter how much I drink so I might as well not be thirsty on top of it.

I drink all day/night and in the middle of the night. I am so thirsty. When I get up to pee, I actually drink more water. Silly, I know but I'm thirsty.
i do not drink after dinner, which is 5:30. I go to bed around 10 and go to the bathroom. I generally wake 1 time at night. I am SUPER thirsty in the morning and down 2-3 glasses of water/juice/milk asap, but worth it.
I don't drink anything after 7:00 so 3 hours before I go to bed. Occasionally I will have to get up in the night to pee (like once a week) and it's almost always when I drank more than normal in the evening.

I'm always crazy thirsty before bed (and in the middle of the night) so this hasn't been an option for me. I usually need to roll over every 2-3 hours anyway and that's a big production, so adding a pee break to that isn't such a big deal.
