Kelly is my mother's maiden name so it has meaning. I know it is fairly common, however I am thinking it may become less common and it seems pretty rare for babies nowadays. Honest opinions welcome, thanks!
I never ever say I prefer Grace as a MN... but in this case, I prefer Grace.
Kelly Grace is a great name. Kelly is also a great name and it's totally UNCOMMON these days.
BTW, "dated" in names is a *good* thing. Way better than the trendy hot thing. Who wants to be one of a dozen Kaylies in kindergarten? Kelly on your child is going to sound unusual and cool.
i think it would be good to use a less feminine middle name since kelly to most people is now a girl name. i just think the name would sound more professional with a family surname or something as a middle name [although i realize you said kelly is your mother's maiden name].

Re: What do you think of...
Kelly is NMS (seems dated to me), but I like its significance to you, and I think you're right---there aren't many babies named Kelly anymore.
Grace and Marie are both pretty generic, so they both sound fine.
What about the equally compatible but less generic:
Kelly Mae
Kelly Blythe
Kelly Charlotte
Kelly Rose
Kelly Reese
Kelly Fiona
Kelly Shannon (very Irish)
Kelly Rhiannon
Kelly Vivienne
Kelly Addison
Agreed- LOVE IT! Kelly Grace!!
This.
I like the spelling you have for Kelly.
Kelly Grace of course makes me think of Grace Kelly, but that isn't a bad connection.
If you go with Kelly Marie you, and she, will probably get let corny commentary about the name.
Kelly Grace.
It seems a bit dated but I like the meaning.
