Jogging Stroller

How many of you registered for a jogging stroller? Did you also register for a full-size? I've noticed that many of the jogging strollers don't carry infant car seats. The reviews for many of them also talk about how bulky they are, and some are impossible to fit into car trunks.

I ended up just going the whole travel system route (stroller+carseat), but DH REALLY wants a jogging stroller. I was thinking about registering for both (travel system and a jogger), only on separate registries (one at Target, one at BRU).

What did you do?

Re: Jogging Stroller

  • We just bought the Bob Revolution and car seat adapter and no travel system. Honestly it doesn't take up that much room and it's really easy to snap the wheels off to fit even better in both our trunks. I'm not a fan of the traditional travel systems. We'll get much more use out of the jogger because we also will use it as an all terrain stroller. We also have an umbrella stroller for quick trips to the mall.
  • I'm not registering for one, but it's more because we wouldn't use it. We have a nice stroller (not travel system), but it will hold our infant seat and be good for daily use. :)

  • We bought a jogging stroller...it is specific as to which infant car seats fit into it but I really wanted this one. It is heavy but not bulky, both DH and I have SUV's with large "trunk" space, if I were putting ours into a car it would get tight!
  • We are getting a BOB Revolution with the carseat adapter for newborns.
  • I'm getting both.  I registered for the travel system and my SIL is giving me her jogger.  I'm not sure of the brand, but she loved having it.  I like the travel system because it has more storage room and I like how the carseat works.

  • We got the BOB Rev stroller and love it.  :)

Ditto this. I was looking at registering for a "regular" stroller and a jogger at first, but that seemed ridiculously expensive, and the BOB had everything I wanted anyway, so we went with it.

This...I have heard travel systems are too bulky anyway, so why not go with a more functional stroller.

  • I have the UppaBaby for my regular everyday stroller (has bassinet, snap in car seat adapter, and full seat)  and got the Bob for running. I will only use the Bob when the baby is big enough to sit in the seat (5 - 6 months) and use it strictly for running. Makes sense because I hope to dive right back into training ASAP so a Bob was a must for me.
  • I had a Peg Perego travel system but what I should have done was bought a jogger with carseat adapter from the beginning. I have the baby jogger city select and it is soooooooooo much better than the P3. I have the baby jogger city mini double but I didn't get the seat adapter and just a body snuggler for the wobbly neck.

  • I registered for a cheapie but well reviewed jogging stroller at Target and a full size Graco stroller at BRU.  not sure which I'll purchase first if neither are bought, but eventually I want to own both.  I'll keep the full sized one folded in the trunk of my car for shopping and other traveling needs, but the jogging stroller I just want for walks and jogs around the neighborhood.  even if you don't run or jog, the jogging strollers with 3 inflated tires make SUCH a difference when traveling on bumpy sidewalks!

  • i'm registered for a baby trend jogger that comes with the infant carrier that fits in the stroller.plus the carrier holds up to 30lbs instead of only 22lbs. only $150 at walmart!  we also are going to get an umbrella stroller for quick trips when LO is big enough to sit on his own. i can't wait to get the stroller!!!
  • We had the same dilemma, so we decided to register for a jogger that is also a travel system.

Here's the link to the one we chose at BRU, but I believe Target and Walmart carry this brand too.

  • Aside from CDs, we put the most research and testing into our stroller decision. We were originally going to go with a jogger because we walk a shell covered path every night. The only thing we could find that would hold up to that kind of daily abuse was a jogger.

I have a snap-n-go for trips out but I *hate* travel systems. I can't stand them- they're big and bulky, don't collapse easily, can't be washed and won't handle any sort of off road travel.

We wanted: air inflated tires (holds up to the shells better and will last longer over all), adjustable handle bar- a full handle bar not hand holds (I'm short and Mr Techie isn't), easily collapsable and light weight (I'm 4'9" and need to be able to lift the thing by myself), the ability to hold an infant up to a toddler, and all cloth pieces need to be removeable and machine washable (in case of dropped food and blow outs). There were probably a few more considerations but I'm tired of listing them, lol.

We went with the Baby Jogger City Elite version. This is technically an "off road" stroller. It's only 21-22 lbs and has a jump strap collapse handle. It has all the features we wanted. It can hold an infant seat and an additional attachment will turn this into a double stroller with a jump seat.
