If you had a few extra hundred $$$ to spend on yourself, what would you spend it on? It's a requirement that it's spent on YOU; not the house, kids, DH, or savings. It will get taken back if you try to spend it on someone else.
I just had this for my birthday. I got new Sanita Clogs in Black and Brown. I can't wait for sub 95 degrees so I can wear them! I also got two of my grandmother's (who passed away last year) mission rocker cushions recovered, so my living room will finally be done for a while, and I will always have the chairs as a memory of what a great lady she was.
Kori, I know. I have been working on my first knock off wood project, and have been fortunate to be able to borrow most of the tools from the superhandy males in my family, and I'd really like to "permanently" borrow the miter saw (which my BIL *never* uses). We have a DeWalt drill, but it's the smaller kind and I am totally loving my brother's 18W. He has a whole set, big drill, jigsaw, circular saw... I am utterly envious.
I'd be tempted to split some of it up. Like, get a good pedi, haircut, and the rest on clothes.
This.
But how sad that I was thinking retirement savings or something for the family or house before I saw your qualifier?!? Why is it so hard for me to splurge and pamper myself sometimes? I do it for the rest of my family and then forget about myself. Such is life as a daughter, wife and mother, I fear.

Now I realize why men love power tools.
