I'm trying to come up with my menu for my husband's bday party. I think I am pretty well covered, but I want to make two dips that would be good with beer bread. I figured I'd cube up the beer bread for dipping.
Kori - I have about 6 bags of the beer bread mix from Tastefully Simple and I need to use it. LOL! It does well in cubes for dipping. I'm just not really a fan of any of the TS dips that they suggest with it.
I am already making a cheesy taco meat dip and chili. Off to google some sort of bacon dip...this is a man's party after all.
Do youhave any of the Tastefully Simple "Garlic Garlic"? It makes a great dip and the beer bread tastes so good with it. Otherwise I second a cheese fondue.

Yes. Do you mix it with sour cream? Mayo? Both?
I had a TS party last fall, and I seriously have two large boxes of stuff in my storage room that I haven't used. I got so much free product. It is insane.

I think you do half mayo, half sour cream. I don't like it straight, I like it mixed with the spinach and herb TS blend. I also like a dip mix I got from Cabela's (which probably won't be an option). I think it was horseradish and bacon
Melt butter with oil in heavy large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; saut? until onion is tender, about 6 minutes. Add flour; stir 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in stock and cream; bring to boil, whisking constantly. Cook until mixture thickens, stirring frequently, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in spinach, cheese, sour cream and cayenne (spinach will wilt). Season with salt and pepper. Transfer dip to serving bowl. Serve warm with toasted baguette slices.
This is a recipe for Spin. Artichoke dip that's supposed to be similar to one at Olive Garden. It's fabulous and always a big hit at gatherings. Just make sure to really squeeze out the excess water from the spinach after thawing it.
1 pkg. cream cheese (light or reg.)
1 can artichoke hearts (chopped)
1/2 c. chopped frozen spinach (cooked and drained)
1/4 cup Mayo
1/4 cup Parmesan
1/4 cup Romano cheese
1-2 cloves garlic, chopped and sauteed
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 cup Mozzarella
Blend cream cheese, mayo, parm. Romano, garlic, and garlic salt. Add artichokes and spinach and mix until well blended. Top with Mozz cheese. Bake at 350 for 25 min. or until top is browned.

good split pea soup!
some sort of lager cheese dip, may as well go w/the beer theme ;-)
All the beer bread I've ever had wouldn't work/hold together in cubes, though.

I like this one. I use real bacon. https://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cheddar-Ranch-Dip/Detail.aspx
I also like spinach dip.
Thanks! I just saw that one. Do you have a recipe to share for spinach dip? I know he likes it, although I don't, so I've never made it.

I always buy spinach dip from a local grocery store.
One of these my gf uses and it's really good. I can't remember which one, but I had them both bookmarked. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/spinach-bread-dip-recipe/index.html.

I have made this spinach dip from epicurious before. It was quite good:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 3/4 cups chopped onion
6 large garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 cup chicken stock or canned low-salt chicken broth
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 10-ounce package ready-to-use fresh spinach leaves
1 cup (packed) grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Baguette slices, toasted

1c sour cream (or light sour cream)

Just before serving dice 2-3 tomatoes and mix in.
I always use the Spinach dip recipe on the back of the Knorr vegetable recipe mix, it's sold by the soups.
1 pkg (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1 container (16 oz) sour cream (light is fine)
1 c mayo (light is fine)
1 package Knorr Vegetable recipe mix
1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts drained and chopped (optional)
Combine all ingredients and chill about 2 hrs (I like to chill longer)
