Hello ladies,
I was hoping that I could reach out here again to get some support for a BOTB-r who was taken into the hospital last night at 22w. Her cervix is to far gone for a cerclage, but they are hoping bedrest will keep the babe baking long enough to lower the risks. They are trying to get to 24w right now so they can start the steroid shots.
If anyone has any stories they are willing to offer up about how they managed to get even just a little longer by being on hospital bedrest we would greatly appreciate it.
Unfortunately, this is not her first encounter with the scary-ness that is prematurity, so thoughts and lifting her in prayer is also appreciated. Thanks!!!!!
Re: BOTB is in need
Thank you for your thoughts/prayers.
I would like to add that I hope I didn't come across as insensitive asking for help when so many ladies here are struggling. I just know how supportive and uplifting this board is, and BOTB is in a frenzy right now and are reaching for any and all the support we can get for TimsWifey.
I just thought if maybe one person had a story of getting to 25, 28, 30, 32 or even 37 weeks on bed rest after a complication like this it would help.
I was admitted to the hospital at 23w and didn't leave until I delivered 6w later. I'm not going to lie, it sucked and it was a very scary time, but obviously I'm so grateful I made it so far.
I hope that she can stay PG for many, many more months

I was admitted at 24 weeks, dilated to 3 cm. I was on hospital bedrest for 2 weeks and then delivered at 26 weeks. I met many women along my journey that were able to hold on longer than I did. Thoughts and prayers to her and her family.
She has every reason to have lots and lots of hope. My water broke and I made it a week on bedrest (delivered at 27 weeks) but my sister-in-law had issues with her cervix and was put on strict bedrest at (I think) 20 weeks. She made it to 42 weeks and they had to induce! Also, a friend of mine's water broke at 22 weeks, they hospitalized her for a week, the hole in her membranes healed on its own and she was sent home. She carried the baby to term.
These things are so, so very scary but there are so many stories that turn out wonderfully. Tell her to hang in there, follow the doctor's orders and whisper encouraging words to that baby to stay put!
Good luck and big hugs~

I lost ALL of my fluid and went on hospital bedrest at 23w1d. I wasn't in active labor and lasted until my placenta began to abrupt at 27w3d. NO ONE thought I would last that long...least of all me. We had a long road in the NICU but 14mos later, DD is doing better than we ever could have hoped.
Best of luck to your BOTB friend...I'll certainly add her to my prayers!
Her girls are over a month old now and doing very well in the NICU. One has been breathing room air for most of the time, only occassionally on the cpap.
Clayli isn't on the bump much lately, but if you'd like I can get you her contact info for Timswifey. She's an awesome lady. She's been my inspiration for getting through ptl at 33wks. (Which is awesome of her, b/c I'm no where near in the danger zone she was in).
I had a thinning cervix and Baby A's water ruptured at 27.5 weeks. By being on strict hospital bedrest I was able to make it to 32 weeks. Both boys were born fairly healthy and strong and are doing well.
Will keep her in my prayers!!!
BFP #2 - 12/9/09 After being on bedrest for 10 weeks due to TTTS and hospital bedrest for 4 weeks due to PPROM, my sticky babies are here! Born at 32 weeks!!
