I bought 10 used BG 3.0s from Cottonbabies when they did a big sale back in February. I only paid $2 or $3 each for them. When I ordered them I also bought the repair kit for $1 (why, I don't know because I don't sew). So I only have $40 max invested in all of them. Only 2 of them needed to be fixed right away, so I haven't been using those 2. Well, my aplix is getting really bad on the others so I was thinking of replacing them but I don't want to fool with it myself. But then I was doing some googling and found a lady at convertmydiapers.com that will convert them to snaps for $3.75 and replace all (2 legs and back) of the elastic for $4.50 per diaper. Do you think it is worth it? Ella is only 3.5 months old and we plan on at least 1 or 2 more children so they need to have some life left, but I don't know how old the dipes were to begin with. I'm not sure its worth investing in them or if I should just wait until they are unusable and buy new. What are your experiences with either conversions or replacements and the life of the diaper?

Re: Converting to snaps
It's quite easy to convert diapers to snaps yourself - and it doesn't require any sewing. More on that in a second. I just finished doing all 15 of my BGs. Five of them were VERY used. I actually got them for free from a mama who had used them for two years. I had to replace the elastic as well, and while they are super-pilly, the PUL still works great!
If you are interested in trying the snap conversion on your own, go to kamsnaps.com and order a set of snap pliers and snaps (they sell them in all the BG colors). Then take a look at this tutorial.
