fleece pj pants pattern?

Having recently moved to Minnesota with DD and another one on the way, I would love to make some fleece pants for the kiddos for the winter. Joann's has a sale on their anti-pil fleece and I would love to buy a bunch for pants, but I wanted to try a pattern first.

I would be willing to buy, but would prefer a good tutorial. Has anyone seen anything? Also MN moms, any other sewing projects you would recommend for keeping the LO's warm?

Re: fleece pj pants pattern?

  • I wish I still had the pattern handy, but I mostly eyeball it now...try googling handkerchief shorts for an idea.  Just make them longer and you're good to go.  I've made my boys several pairs of pants/shorts from this pattern, and now I just us a pair of pants that fit them as a guide for sizing.

  • try  katrina's quick sew pattern... she has some longies patterns on there that you should be able to use for fleece.  they look pretty simple too!

i've made her soakers but not the longies... had no problems with the soakers though!  good luck!

  • I just use a pair of current pants that fit them to make the pattern from. I am assuming these are for like sleeping and not fitted? then its really easy. fold in half. trace the pants, allow for a seam and eleastic waistband. I call them 15 minute pants since they are so easy to sew.
