Delphine. Or Delphina.
It's a French name I've secretly loved for a while now, but just recently started seriously considering since I've discovered how hard it is for DH and I to agree on girls' names.
I believe it's meant to be pronounced dell-FEEN or dell-FEEN-uh, but those with stronger backgrounds in French are welcome to correct me.
Thoughts? Is it too bizarre or strange? Hard to pronounce? Does it sound pretty? Or ridiculous/ugly?
TIA!
Re: Thoughts on....
I think it's cute. I tend to read books that take place in England/Scotland and there have been a few Delphine's in them. Not hear to much in the USA but that's one more reason to like it!
Well I am not 100% sure how to pronounce it but I have to say that the couple of ways I try to say it out loud I don't like it.
I do however LOVE Daphne and Delilah.
me too.

I'm not much of a francophile but I like Delphine and think you are right that it is pronounced del FEEN.
It is nice normal, but uncommon
It's pretty...
First thing I think of is Mike from Desperate Housewives - I think his LN was Delfino...
