on the way to DS's school is a HUGE hornet's nest, in a tree, above a sidewalk. It's the size of a basketball. It's hanging in a tree, definitely within rock throwing distances. It's easy to see the hornets flying around it.To me -- that's too damn close.

DH says leave it be: not our yard. I say call the township and ask them to remove it. I doubt the people who own the tree can see the nest as its in the tree that sits outside their fence. We walk by it (on the other side of the sidewalk) every day.

In PA, that nest would be abandoned/dormant by now. It will not be re-used next year.

I'm in PA! It is definitely an active nest.
