BF Moms & Babies needed for AAP workshops in San
Francisco
Hello! I am one of two pediatricians/IBCLCs
running Breastfeeding
Workshops at the American Academy of
Pediatrics, National Conference & Exhibition to be held at
the Moscone Center, Sunday October 3rd. Dr. Joan Meek and I will
be hosting the workshops.
In brief, the sessions are usually ~40
physicians (mostly pediatricians), we lead the session and cover BF
basics, let moms share some of their BF stories, and allow the audience
to ask questions. We would love for moms to be comfortable allowing
their infants to breastfeed, to allow a brief view at a latch if
attendees desire. We reimburse parking, you can attend any general open
sessions that day, and we provide a $50 honoraria.
The sessions
are as follows:
Sunday, October 3rd 8:30-10:00 AM: "What You
Always Wanted to Know About Breastfeeding (Basic Breastfeeding Clinical
Support Skills Workshop) designed for practicing pediatricians.
We
are looking for 3 families: ideally a relatively young baby
(<1month), a 2-6 month old, and a >6 month old.
Sunday, October 3rd from 2:00-3:30PM: "You Too Can
Be A Breastfeeding Guru! (Advanced Breastfeeding Clinical Support
Skills Workshop)
Ideally, for this session we would like some
challenges: babies with low muscle tone, cleft lip and/or palate, or
multiples.
Please contact me by email at
aapworkshop@gmail.com
with some brief info about you and a phone number.

is the 10th year or so the interactive breastfeeding workshops have
been part of the AAP NCE, and we are excited for another year!
Thanks
for your interest!
