vapor bath?

My lo is super congested,  I am going to get some saline stuff today but was also wondering if I could give her a vapor bath? Or is it not good for infants?

    I have a vapor humidifier and was reading the back of the directions of the vapor to add in and it says do not use for children under six months I believe. My LO is super congested right now too, Pedi said use the saline drops then suction out and use a humidifier/steamed bathroom room to help with the congestion. HTH!

    My DD is congested too.  I asked her pedi about it.  She said take her in the bathroom while you or DH are taking a shower and let her get steam that way.  Use a COOL mist humidifier in their room.  (The warm ones can burn them apparently.)  Don't use the Vicks or vapor stuff in the humidifier.  Put 2-3 saline drops in one nostril, then suck it out with a bulb syringe.  (She said, "Don't be one of those wussy Moms that only sticks the tip of the bulb in a little bit."  She stressed REALLY getting in there and sucking it out.)  Once you finish one nostril, move on to the other one.  We've been doing this for a few days and it's slowly gotten better.  HTH!
