My grandma just passed away a couple months ago and her name was Harriet/Hedwig with a nickname of Hattie. I think Hattie is cute, but not really a fan of Harriet. Is Hattie too much of a nickname to use alone as a first name? Or would you just consider doing Harriet for the formal first name and not really using it? I've seen Henrietta as another first name option, but if I'm going to use Hattie, I want to use it to honor my grandma, you know?

Re: Hattie?
This, I've seen it spelled Haddie as well.
I LOVE Harriet!!
And I do like the idea of having a more fomal name, Harriet, and using Hattie as a nickname. Think about job applications and college graduation.
I like it as a nickname for Harriet. It seems a bit too cute for a stand-alone name.
I thought that the nickname for Henrietta was usually Hettie/Hetty.
