I am beyond over perfectly straight, overly whitened, veneered teeth.  I see people on tv with obviously fake teeth, bleached so much they are like lights in their mouths and it makes me cringe.

Give me a Hugh Grant or a Jewel or Owen Wilson.  I'd take any of those smiles over the manufactured mugs that are plastered over the media today. Best example of bad 'good' teeth that comes to mind is Robin McGraw (Phil's wife).  shudder.  Oh, and most entertainment 'reporters'.

That media machine is trying to make everyone look the.damn.same.

I'm all for reasonably straight and reasonably white teeth, but it's gone over the edge in recent years.

I don't care for a lot of them, but 50 Cent's look fab and perfectly natural.

Agreed! It is even more creepy because people I actually know are getting veneers. At Christmas my 15 year old male cousin and 30 year old female cousins had the exact same veneers... then my friend goes and gets her already pretty smiled shellacked and now her teeth no longer have any character, just that generic corn on the cob look.

I think all the pics look fine (befores & afters)...that being said I was born w/ naturally near perfect teeth & married a guy w/ some major teeth flaws--but he's perfect in every other way & would look weird w/ a perfect gleeming set--his crocked teeth fit his quirky, artsy, casual personality :oP

Most look nice, but the ones I dislike are Posh, Michael Douglas, Nicholas Cage, and Keith Urban.  The others look pretty natural and not overly white.

I always hate when teeth are all the same length, if that makes sense. Like a perfectly straight line across, it just doesn't look normal or natural to me. But all these stars and models pefect teeth make me so self conscious about my own.

I hate when I see people who have whitened their teeth so much they look like their teeth are going to glow in the dark.  I think it's become in obsession(like tanning) with some people.  Their teeth just never look white enough to them.

As a dental hygienist, I can say that it absolutely is an obsession for some people.  They want their teeth as close to chalk white as possible.
