Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 38 and have been ttc for 1 year. Today I had blood drawn to check my FSH. Fingers crossed that it will be good news! I have had no trouble getting pregnant before.. so I am concerned that it is due to my age. My mother had her last baby at 40 so I am hoping I can do this one more time... but after 12 months of disappointment I am ready to know what my chances are.
Has anyone had this test done? What should I be hoping for?
Re: Hi all.. new here
welcome! we're in the same boat -- 38, trying for a year, got pg easily before.
DH and I had all the tests done. everything checked out.(I hope everything goes well for you!)
we've conceived twice in the last year but lost them both very early on. sigh.
everyone on this board understands the frustration and isolation. you've come to a very supportive board.
good luck!
Thanks all for the warm welcome! I got my test results today and my results are good.. I think. My OB said she would call me next week to explain the results but the lab emailed them to me early I guess. So my FSH is 6.5 and from what I can tell that is a good level, right? My thyroid was 1.72 and the normal range is supposed to be .85 to 4.0 so I guess that means it is pretty average. I am SO relieved!
I am thrilled that my results are good but also concerned that I am still not pregnant. I was kind of hoping it was my thyroid-then maybe there would be something I could do to fix it. Now that I know I am o.k.. I am right back where I started--with no answers.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and wish all of us a short stay on this board.
