I am weaning LO off of breastmilk and have been giving her similac advance. I've  noticed she seems to be struggling alot while trying to poop. She finally had a bm last night after what seemed like hours of grunting and crying. Im wondering if its because of the formula?

I had to take my son off of Similac Advance because he stayed constipated. We put him on the Similac Sensitive and it cleared up in a few days.

My LO did the same thing. The Dr told me breastmilk is a "natural laxative" and that LO has to really learn how to poop. LOL. I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's what he said. I also was on Similac Advance first and had to switch, but that was bc of AR issues, and she still grunts a lot to get out the poop... but it has significantly improved.

I still BF very little but we do similac advance and she loves it. At first we did mix it one scoop advance and one sensitive to help adjust better and we had to problems. GL

we had the same issue, in addition to gas and spitting up. we switched to enfamil and we have a much happier baby.

My LO has been on Similac Advance since she was four days old and as she gets older the pooping has slowed down.  I have read it is normal for FF babies to only poop once a day.  Her poop is also harder than it was when I was nursing.

We've had a lot of BM issues with Similac. She had diarrhea with Similac Advanced and Similac Sensitive caused constipation. We have moved to Enfamil and seeing how that works.
