Stupid question, can babies have syrup? (On pancakes)

I associate syrup with honey, which I know is a no-no but something tells me that it's ok for them to have Hungry Jack syrup.

Yes, they can.  Syrup is completely different from honey, it's mostly high fructose corn syrup unless it's pure maple.

Well, I've given Tegan some pancakes with a bit of syrup on them several times and she is just fine. So, I'd say that it's most likely ok!

We normally give her plain pancakes which she is fine with, but she had some of ours and was fine.

I don't use it as DS will eat pancakes plain. I figure he's getting enough sugar from the pancakes, no need to add syrup. :)  I don't think syrup would be harmful, I just choose not to do it.

If anything I give him a tiny bit of pure maple syrup. I would NEVER give him Hungry Jack type syrup...it's basically just sugar. He doesn't need that.

Thanks girls! Turns out that he didn't even want any pancakes, ha ha. But it's good to know for future reference!
