XP: Need homecoming banner help

DH is coming home from Afghan soon and I've already ordered some banners to hang on some fences.  I've come up with an idea to paint for my sign but I can NOT think of anything from DS that is cute and not just "welcome home daddy. I missed you".

He wasn't supposed to meet DS till homecoming but he almost died so he came home on emergency leave.

Help? :)

    Maybe make a copy of his hand/footprints from birth to put on one side, then put new prints with some paint and say "look how big I've gotten!" Or something.

    FTR - I don't have kids, but I'm trying here. LOL.

    Do like it says on his shirt  "Daddy is my Hero."  Then put his little hand prints and foot prints around in red and blue.
