Cloth Diapering

Thinking about CDing

Hello! My little guy is almost one, and I am thinking about switching to cloth. I figure he will be in diapers for about another year and a half, and I'm sick of paying for dispoables. He is completely off breast milk at this point, and down to pooping once per day, so I feel like if we are going to switch now is a good time.

So, where do I start? Any recommendations as far as what type to go with? I SAH part time, and the rest of the time (15 hrs per week) he is with my SIL. He has a pretty big bladder, and we go up a diaper size at night otherwise he pees through it.

Thanks!

Re: Thinking about CDing

  • I would say an AIO would be a good bet for you, especially since you're starting later. Maybe something like a Fuzzibunz or BumGenius :)
  • If you plan on having more children, then you should definitely get one-size diapers. We use Bum Genius one-size organic all-in-ones and love them. They are just as quick to get on and off an active toddler and so easy for anyone to use. We used prefolds when DD was younger, but decided the extra cost for the AIOs was well worth it. (And it is).
