My baby has extra fluid around his brain!

I posted this on another thread with no response!

I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has had experience with this. At my anatomy scan, the tech said my baby had a little more fluid than normal in the lateral ventricles of the brain. They called down a maternal fetal doctor to take a look and he said from what he could see it was mild and we would just need to follow up. My ob also said not to be too concerned about it! From what i've read it's called mild ventriculomegaly and 10mm and under is normal and my baby boy was measuring 10mm on one side and 11mm on the other. No other abnormalities were found and my NT Scan was perfect! I have a repeat u/s on 9/23 so I'm just trying to see if this has happened to anyone else on here!! Thanks!

I haven't gone through that, but thoughts and prayers to you and your LO.  For now I'd try to take the doctor's advice and not worry.  There's nothing you can do about it but try not to stress as that's bad for the baby.  If you don't get any support here try googling it as there are many other pregnancy forums online and one of them is bound to have a few moms who have gone through this.

I have not gone through this. A friend of mine, whose son is a few months older than DS was also given this diagnosis at his anatomy scan. They scheduled another u/s at a later date to follow up. By then it had resolved itself.
