Robert is a family name. I like it, but I don't really like any of the nicknames. Which would you use?

My nephew (18 years old) is named Robert.  He has never been called anything other than his full name, partly because my sister enforced it when he was a baby, & partly because he insisted on it himself later.  I remember once, just joking around with him, I called him, "Sir" & he frowned & said, "My name is Robert."  lol

He was named after my dad, who was called Bobby as a child.  Then my dad went by the name Bob as an adult--my mom is the only one who ever called him Robert.  But Bob is definitely a name from that generation.  Rob is more current, I think.

I kind of think Bert or Bertie for a baby is kind of cute. It's growing on me. I wouldn't call him that for real, just like an at home nick name of a nick name kind of thing. Also, my mom told me I had a crush on Bert from Sesame Street when I was little, so it reminds me of that
