She came over this afternoon (since I had called & invited her over this morning before the email situation). When she got here, she said that she had gotten my email & that it was a huge misunderstanding. She said that saying, "Isn't it sad that we have to invite ourselves," is an inside joke between her & her sister. Riiiiiiiiiight. I just basically said that I understood it was a misunderstanding. I figured; I sent her my email, she now knows how I feel about her comment, I said my piece, and I don't want to drag out an argument. I did make a few comments throughout the day though to remind her of how much time she has had with Reese, & that Matt & I need to have a life separate from them. I don't think she'll ever "get it", & I really don't know how to solve that problem. Unless we literally see them everyday (and I'm not exaggerating here), it will never be enough. So, I guess I just have to continue to be the selfish daughter who keeps their grandchild from them. It's very frustrating. Thanks for asking though!
Oh, and BTW, her & my dad stayed for 5 HOURS today for their "quick visit". Hmmm, I wonder why I don't invite you over more often.
Well I am glad that you said your piece and was somewhat okay with her response even though it was a crock lol but it is better to let it go and not cause and a huge fight! She knows you saw the email and she probably is very embarrassed about it!!
5 hours omg!!! I know they are your parents but talk about over staying your welcome!!!
Maybe you should move to Florida to be with your sister lol then you will not have to deal with it

That's funny--I was talking to my sister about the situation tonight, & I was begging her to talk them into moving down there to be near her. She told me that my parents were complaining that they never see Reese when she was home Labor Day weekend. She didn't want to tell me because she knew I would be upset. We ended the conversation with me telling her to enjoy her family-free life. Oh, to be a thousand miles away. lol

Must be an inside joke with your sister than too I guess.....I still think Florida is the best choice...for selfish reasons too of course!!
