Anyone go from fingertip dilated to labor within a few days?!  I had my 39 week apt this morning and it looks like LO's head has moved way down, but I am only fingertip dilated.

At 39.5 weeks, I was told that my cervix was so closed that I had at least 10 days left. . I went into labor 2 days later!

I had been 1 cm and 70% effaced for 4 weeks, then I had my membranes stripped and went into labor the next morning. LO was born at 40 weeks 6 days.

At my last appt (40w 5d) my induction was scheduled because I was still at 1cm for the third week in a row. I had DD about 9 hrs after that appt. Anything can happen!

I was 1 cm at my 39 wk appt and DD was born 2 days later.

Yes! I had been fingertip from weeks 36-39. At 40 weeks I had advanced to 1cm. She was born the next morning. Anything can happen in the blink of an eye.

At my 38 week appt I was barely 1cm and not effaced at all.  I started contracting and dilated to 3 5 days later. 

-Pitocin was used to augment labor, and my water broke when the nurse went to check me.

I was 1 cm at 35 weeks, 2 cm at 36 weeks, and then 3 cm dilated for over two weeks and ended up having to be induced.  I was 4 cm the morning of my induction but still not having contractions.  Yes, things can happen quickly, but it could mean nothing.

My cervix was completely closed at my 36 week check, and that night, about 8 hours later, my water broke and I delivered the next afternoon.  I was totally bummed when they said my cervix wasn't doing anything, but it was a great surprise later. Hang in there!

the night I went into labor I was told I was not dilated at all.  We even scheduled an induction for a few days later. I left the doctors office and had my first real contraction in the car on the way home.  I had my baby 40 hours later.

I still wasn't dilating and the doc said get ready for a c section. He checked me an hour later and ta-da! Full 10 cm! Anything can happen.

Yep - I was only a fingertip dilated when I went into labour. And I was still only a fingertip for the first 14 hours of labour, too!! Then I dilated so darn quickly (from 2 to 10 in about 40 min) that they didn't have time to give me the epi I'd been so patiently waiting for...

I was less than a fingertip on a Wednesday.  Labor on Saturday.
