movement - when can you tell what part is what?

The twins' movements are so strong now that my belly actually jumps and things stick out. I can tell the difference between babies (one has an anterior placenta so her movements are much lighter) but I can't tell exactly what is popping out yet.

When could you start to tell hands from feet from head from heineys. I'm so curious to know what part just cause me to look like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens!!!

I thought I knew and then I would go and the tech would say. nope that's  butt....etc

I concur with never. I usually had an idea what position they were in from my last u/s since there were so many, so I could guess. But I was wrong all the time.

My twins were always in the same position on ultrasounds, so I was able to make guesses that I think were pretty accurate. Not sure when exactly, though...

I've never been able to tell and both have been in basically the same positions at all ultrasounds.

I could tell in the 30ish week range.  I could feel Lily's fingers scratching me and hold Sophia's little butt when she would try to move.

I could never tell with my DS.  This time around it's twins but I'm only 9 weeks.  I can't WAIT to start feeling them move! I absolutely LOVE that!

I agree, I could tell who was moving, but could never really tell what they were moving.
