Smoking around babies/kids

Wow!  Dropped my 4 yr old off for her very first day of preschool yesterday.  We park the car and next to us a 60ish year old lady (grandma) getting two kids out of her car to drop them off at daycare.  She is in the car with all windows rolled up, hers just cracked open.  She gets out with cigarette in hand (had been smoking in car) and gets a 2 1/2 yr old out of the car, and then a 6 month old baby.  

 

I was angry.  I had to wait for her to get the kids out of her car until I could get to mine.  She apologized and had a VERY raspy voice.  Really?????  You can smoke all day, but kids can't get away from you in the car.  So horrible.  My parents did this to me as a kid and I am still bitter, can you tell?  Should I have said something?  I wanted to, but didn't.  Just wish people wouldn't be so stupid and inconsiderate about smoking in such enclosed places.  Especially with very young children!

My parents smoked also. I'm not very tolerant of smoking when it affects other people. I don't care if people smoke in their houses, cars, etc. as long as they aren't doing it with other people in the car or throwing their nasty butts out the window.
