Low placenta and Incompetent Cervix anyone?

Hi everyone!  Haven't been on this site in almost 2 years!  Yikes!

Tomorrow I have a circlage scheduled due to an incompetent cervix.  When I went for my appt. this evening, she also said my ultrasound showed my placenta was low.  She said she thinks she'll be able to do the circlage still, but she may not be able to sew it all the way.  Anyone have any experience with this?  Wondering what effect a low placenta will have on an incompetent cervix?

TIA!

  • I am in the same situation and I am exactly as far along as you.  I found out Monday.  I'm going back next Thursday for a recheck and then they will decide.  My Dr. is hoping the placenta will move up a little.  I'm not sure what will happen if it doesn't.

  • I had a low lying placenta at the time of my cerclage placement as well. Thankfully, all went well and at my anatomy scan a couple of weeks ago we discovered that the previa corrected. Hope your placements went well!
