I'm wanting to do a Christmas expo (I'm in marketing/promotions) in our town that would be like a craft show for small retail businesses. The stores would get a booth and be able to set up a mini-store. (You know the cute boutique that you drive by and always want to go in--but are in too big of a hurry to stop?? This would be all those stores in one place)
I want to do the show to encourage people to shop in local stores for Christmas instead of going to the nearby larger towns and shopping there.
Here's my quandary--I feel like having it earlier is better (early to mid November) I know that people won't really be shopping for Christmas presents that early, but it would at least remind them to shop in the local places (and find out about local stores they didn't know existed) when they do start their shopping.
Would you go to a Christmas themed event before Thanksgiving? (the admission would only be $1 or $2 and would all go to a local charity to help with Christmas presents for the underprivileged)
