Non-permanent way to label clothing?

I need to label G's clothes/loveys/blankets for preschool, but I'm looking for a non-permanent way to do this.

S2 will wear those clothes later, so I don't want G's name all over them. Plus I'd like to be able to re-sell.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Oh, I also suck at embroidering.

Could you use permanent marker on a small "tag" of sturdy fabric that you could tack (sew into the clothes either loosely all around, or just at each of the corners) to the clothing.  Then you could snip a few threads to get it back out?

I remember when I was little we had little cloth tags sewn (tacked) on to our clothing and toys.

I've been looking around as well. I found some sites where you can order labels and thinking about going that route. My issue is that the boys already share clothes--I don't want them to think they can only wear their own. Or if I give away or sell some that their name is all over it.

What about putting your last name instead of G's name on the labels? Then you won't have to remove them for S2, just when you are ready to sell them.

I'm sure you can find an Etsy seller that makes small fabric labels that can be loosely sewn onto the clothing.

DItto Olivers Labels, Stuck on you, Name Bubbles, and Label Daddy. I have stuff in carts all over the place just haven't clicked the confirm button. I figure that there is no perfect adhesive out there so all the labels will come off at some point. It makes it a little easier in the decision that the clothing won't be forever ruined for future use.

Awesome! Thank you guys.

I ended up getting some of the name bubbles stickers. They're washable & peelable, and the price was right (over 100 for under $25 after s/h). We'll give those a shot.

In terms of putting the last name: this is still a tbd actually. We're considering having S2 take my last name, in which case he and G would have different names. Even if that didn't happen, I would still want a semi-permanent label, so I can resell the clothes later.
