Unsnapping OS pocket rise snaps for wash?

Do you unsnap the rise snaps when you wash, or do you just leave them snapped?  Why?

I unsnap them before I wash them because I just think they will last longer that way.  It is a hassle to unsnap them though, only to snap them again a few hours later.

  • I don't.  I do, however, unsnap the OS inserts because I feel like they'll get cleaner that way.  The outside of the PUL, though, doesn't usually come into contact with poop or pee, so I don't see any reason to unsnap the rise.  I actually think there would be more wear and tear on the snaps (and the PUL around the snaps) from constant unsnapping/snapping than from going through the washer snapped together.

  • I had been unsnapping mine but then it got to be a PIA so I started leaving them snapped.  I also think it will make them last longer if they are not snapped and unsnapped as many times

My thinking is that if I leave them snapped they'll be that way for an extended period of time and  when it comes to move up in size, they'll be weaker in the fold of the PUL where it was snapped (does that even make sense??).  I didn't even think about the fact that the PUL and snaps would be going through alot more wear and tear *doh!*

  • Pretty sure thats unnecessary. I've never unsnapped unless changing the size (so twice).  I dont see a reason for it and its a PITA!

Same. Seems to cause more wear if you're always snapping/unsnapping.

  • Cottonbabies actually had a FB post about this not too long ago. They said to leave them snapped to reduce the wear on the snaps & diaper. I think it would be a PITA to unsnap and re-snap them every wash.

  • no, and I don't see how it will help them last longer. If anything, I would think it would wear out the snaps quicker to unsnap and resnap so much.

  • Yeah, I don't unsnap either.
