How much have you lost so far? I know that it takes time, but I'm getting frustrated. DD will be 1 month this week. I lost 15 lbs so far, but my weight has stayed the same for the past 2 weeks. I walk for 30 minutes- 1 hour almost every night, and I've been doing an exercise video (half hour, interval training) about 3 times/week for the past 2 weeks. My belly has gotten smaller but the weight isn't coming off? I'm trying not to be impatient but I have a bridesmaid dress to wear in December and I'm getting nervous about it! Someone please bring me back to earth and/or share any weight loss suggestions?
Re: if you gained 40+ lbs during pregnancy...
I gained 55-60 lbs with both of my pregnancies. With DD, I lost 20lbs the 1st week. The next 20 took about 3 more months & I was back to my pp weight by 7 months.
So far, I've lost 20-25.
Are you nursing? I think that's what really helped me. Plus, I have to chase a toddler around now!
I guess nursing is what helped me. I did exactly what you are doing - walking, exercise DVDs when I can. I also have an LO who doesn't like to be put down during the day, so I often don't have time to sit down and eat. And I try to eat as healthy (as in, a wide variety of good food, not "low-fat" or anything) as possible. I've noticed that junk food upsets LO's tummy anyway, so I have extra incentive to get all my fruits and veggies in.
Gained 45, lost 35 so far, I have not really done much - I think it's due to BFing mostly! Also, I was very swollen at the end of my pregnancy so I lost a lot of water weight too.
I do have 30 more lbs to lose once I get to my pp weight and I think it will be much harder to lose than the pregnancy weight.
I gained 55 lbs.
I lost 25 lbs within the first 3 weeks.
Then I lost nothing up to 7 weeks pp.
Last week I lost 1 1/2 lbs. I finally decided that I needed to start eating healthier.
With DD1, I also gained 55 lbs, and it took me 5 months to lose all the weight. I expect it will take me at least as long this time.

I gained 60lbs. My DD is 2 months & 2 weeks old. I have lost 33lbs so far with daily walks & breastfeeding. My 1st 20lbs disappeared fast but now its slower to come off.
I've gained 40+ with all 3 pregnancies and with my first two it took me 7+ months to get to my old weight and/or size.
I'm 4w pp today and I've lost 25lbs of the 42lbs that I gained but I haven't lost anything in 2 weeks. That's about how it goes for me, though. I lose a big chunk in the first week or two and then it just stands still until I'm able to start "dieting"/working out and then it's still super hard to get it off. I nurse and it's like my body is just hanging on to every ounce for dear like.
Don't be too discouraged. I've learned over time that it's very lucky women who get to have the weight melt off. Most women it takes longer and it takes work, whether bfing or not.
If it makes you feel better, I stood up in my bff's wedding 4w pp after my first, where I gained 50lbs. I didn't look my best by any means, but I just kept looking at my daughter and reminding myself that I looked that way for such a precious gift given to me and my husband. Also, that people were going to be looking at the bride and not me
I gained 40 pounds... after birth 20 came off the first month... but the past 1 1/2 months I've stayed the same. I'm not trying too hard yet to get it off, but plan to start working out more this week if possible.
it takes time.. your body might need a little more time! I thought I remembered hearing to let your body heal a bit more before really starting to work out hard - giving yourself up to 6 weeks after birth before starting up.
