We're going to the baptism of a friend's daughter this weekend. The bay is 9 months old and she's their third baby, so they are pretty much set when it comes to baby gear.
We thought about saving bonds, but it seems they don't want to share their daughters SSN (and we would need that for the bonds).
What do you think could be a nice present?
Re: Baptism present ideas
my all time favorite gift for my baby girl so far has been something like this:

I'm not sure what THIS poem says but mine says something like this angel (make from a hankie) is good to entertain your child during church- but once she gets older, use the hankie for her wedding day! SWEETEST THING EVER! So very unique and thoughtful!
James Avery makes a small wire child's bracelet. You could buy that and put a cross charm on it. Or something like this. MIL bought it for Elizabeth's baptism and had her name engraved on it. It's really really pretty.
There are lots of options on www.thingsremembered.com.
For babies, I like mini-crosses like this:

It's something they could wear either as a baby, or when they are older.
Also - an engraved frame with the name/date of the baptism would be nice. and send them a good pic later to put in it? (if you got pictures of the event). I know that the 1st kid usually gets all of the personalized stuff (everyone is excited), and the rest of the kids are gypped - so I think something personalized would be a nice touch.
