You don't hear of new babies with double names as often anymore. However I wouldn't think twice about considering a double name for one of my children as I grew up with a lot of people with double names.
These are some of my childhood friends: Mary Grace, Anna Catherine, Mary Joe, Mary Beth, Sarah Beth, Tara Mae, Kara Beth, Sally Kay, MaryLei, Joe Anne, Calley Jo, John David, John Dale, Clint Ryan, and David Ray
What do you think of when you hear a double name?

I think southern but in a good/classy way. I love double names. Mary Nell, Mary Winslow and Anne Everett (all family names) were all on our shortlist. I think any name sounds better with Mary or Anne in front of it--maybe even Mary Nevaeh! Kidding.
I've known girls, my age on down to babies with the following double names:
Mary Elizabeth
Mary Margaret
Margaret Anne
Mary Haskins
Mary Bruce
Mary Lib
Mary Brent
Mary Candace
Anna Vaughan
Anna Bennett
Anna Brooks
Anne Wells
Anne Katherine
Emma Claire
Emma Mills
Mary Stuart
Mary Morgan
And tons more. Double names are big in my region.
