NBR: how can I tone down my blonde highlights???

Ugh, just got my highlights done today for a wedding I am in in 2 weeks, and they are waaaaaay too blonde (after I specifically told her to stay on the other side of too blonde......ugh

anything I can do to tone them down? They tone down with time any way right? But anything I can do to make them tone down quicker?

thanks

  • I don't have a very good answer for this but I can tell you my experience. (I am sure there are hair professionals on this board that could answer you better). But, anytime I use Pantene Pro-V shampoo, it pulls my color out. I mean that literally. If I take a bath, my water will be the color of my hair. It has something to do with all the wax in it. I hope you find something that works!!

  • Can you go back to your stylist and ask for a all over color wash to tone down the highlights and give your hair shine?

  • your stylist can put a toner on it....i'd call and ask to come back in...tell him/her that you got home and realized it's too light.

  • I'm a stylist so I hope I can help ya out.  The poster that talked about the Pantene, that will probably take out your darker colors, but as for blondes, those are usually bleach and that can't be washed out of your hair no matter how hard you try.  The best thing I can suggest would be to call your stylist up and ask her to put a toner on them.  It seriously shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes to do.  As a stylist I hope my clients come back if they aren't completely happy.  That way I can fix it and both of us feel better.  Smile

This, I wouldn't try anything on your own..could make it worse.
