Restless Leg Syndrome???

I havent had time to search the boards to see if anyone else had this problem. But I in my 3rd pregnancy and seem to always get RLS and this has been the worse out of all of my pregnancies. I will bring it up to my doctor at my appt next week, but wanted to know if any of you ever had this and if so, is there anything I can do to make it better?

Re: Restless Leg Syndrome???

  • Yes i've had it for both pregnancies (or is it pregnancy's?).

Anyway, there is really nothing you can take for it while preggo besides Tylenol PM, per my OB/GYN.  My hubby sometimes massages them when they are bad, and sometimes a hot bath right before bed helps.  Or walking around the house a little bit. I feel your pain!

  • I had it pretty bad.  Taking warm baths helped me.

  • Ok. Thanks Ladies! I thought it was just me and that I was going crazy when I seen a commercial for it and knew I had all those symptoms..lol

  • Make sure your iron levels are good and increase your B vitamins.  You are probably already taking some B but you may need more.  Take it at a different time then your prenatal so you absorb more of it.  B is water soluble so don't worry about taking too much.  You will just pee out what you don't need.  Also make sure your prenatal is a complete multi on top of the extra stuff you need.  Many of the prenatals are not complete multi's.  They just have the basic needs for pregnancy.  Lastly if you are getting spasms too add magnesium glycinate.  Make sure you are getting alot of water!  I hope this helps because RLS is so horrible.
