They suck.
My doctor put me on a low-carb diet plus metformin. I've never done low-carb before and I have never craved pumpkin muffins like this before. :-P
I've lost weight before by counting calories, but that's super hard to maintain.
Anyone else here on a diet (doctor-mandated or otherwise)? What are you doing and how is it going for you?
Oh, and happy Monday.

Re: Diets
The first few days/week on a low carb diet are the hardest. But it gets easier.
And now I want a pumpkin muffin.
I'm pretty much always on a diet - so I guess it isn't going that well
. I was actually pretty steady in weight from last Aug to this July and now I've started gaining weight again.
I just switched from Sparkpeople to Daily plate for my calorie tracking - I think it will be better because I always went over my Sparkpeople calorie allotment and then gave up. Daily plate does "net" calories, so if I excercise I get to eat more
That's working pretty well - I actually went for a jog over lunch the other day so that I'd have enough calories for a beer at happy hour!
It's only been a week and I went over my goal quite a bit almost everyday, so I guess I'll have to give it some more time to see how it's working. GL!

I used SparkPeople last year and was able to lose about 30 lbs. However, life intervened and it no longer was practical.
I'm doing a south-beach style diet atm. I lose 2 lbs so far so I can't complain tooooo much, but I never realized how many carbs were in tasty things :-P

I lost about 50lbs on Atkins (hello bacon and chicken wings), but it definitly did a number on my colon. Other than that, no adverse health stuff.
My friend went on met, and just lost weight without even trying, her sister too...
H+P
I just finished the Michael Thurmond 6 Day Body Makeover which is fairly low carb, and i lost 5 pounds, even with cheating the last day. I just borrowed the book from the library, I don't think it is something you need to actually buy. Depending on your metabolism, it does allow you some brown rice and fruit.
Good luck

I've never been successful at losing weight on purpose. It's like my body knows what I am trying to do and then f*cks me.
