Thoughts on "seconds"

I keep seeing cloth diaper seconds, which seem like a cheap way to start up a stash of different brands before the baby get here... 

Have you ladies ever purchased these? or had any problems with them?

We have purchased a lot of seconds, especially from cotton babies and I rarely can even tell what is wrong with them.

I just bought some BG 3.0 seconds. I have not used them yet, but they appear to be comparable to the regulars.  From what I read, they usually have a mark, or the stitching is messed up.

I have a bunch. I could only tell once what was wrong, and it was minor (the aplix was slightly crooked....didn't hurt the function at all)

I haven't used mine yet but I have purchased Bumgenius 3.0 seconds from cottonbabiesat www.cottonbabies.com  in OS and xs.  Some have a black marker on the laundry tabs.  One looks a little crooked, but won't affect its function.  Overall they're great! I have also purchased Kisssaluv's seconds from www.kissaluvs.com and can't tell what's wrong.  They don't even have dirt on them.  So far I've had good luck with seconds!

I bought some seconds bg orgainic aios last year from cotton babies.  They were dirty on the outside and that's they only thing I could find wrong with them. 

And to the pp-the black x on the tags are so they know they are seconds if  you try to return them.

Ten of our 15 BG 3.0s are seconds (the other five were very, very well-loved freebies), and I've never been able to tell what's wrong with them.

I also recently bought a Blueberry minky pocket and a Swaddlebees Econappi, as well as half a dozen Blueberry hemp/mf combo inserts, from the last Swaddlebees seconds sale.  There was some uneven stitching on the pockets (not a big deal) and the inserts had some stains (not a big deal) and holes (more of a big deal).  It kind of annoyed me because I was so spoiled by the BG seconds sales, where you get free shipping.  The Swaddlebees shipping can get pricey when you're buying inserts.

I've had issues with swaddlebees/blueberries seconds.  Both sales I've bought from I've had to return a few because they were unusable.
