We went to the Stride Rite outlet yesterday for DD and got a really cute pair of sneakers. Size 4 W. But, they didn't have any non-sneaker shoes in her size, so I'm shopping around on line. I'm seeing all these cute See Kai Run shoes and little Converses and none of them come in wide widths.
Her feet aren't freakishly wide, they're little chubby baby feet, but those are still too big for the regular widths.
Re: Why do so few brands make wide widths?
I agree with pp, See Kai Run shoes are supposodly made for babies with wide feet, which is why they don't actually make "wide width" shoes.
The sales lady at Nordstrom's told me that the person who designed See Kai Run was actually a mom who was sick of her son's fat feet not fitting in any trendy shoes. Who knows if she knew what she was talking about lol.
FWIW, DS wears an XW in stride rite shoes, and the See Kai Run fit him.
Ditto pp about SKR. I find the ones with this kind of stitching on the bottom fit the widest of all their shoes.

DS's feet are borderline w-xw so only those work for him, but if your DD only has slightly wide, the other styles may also work. GL!
I was drooling over a pair of See Kai Run shoes on Zappos, but ordered a Stride Rite instead. I may go back and order the SKR as well and then sent back the Stride Rite if the SKR doesn't work. This made my morning. Off to shop some more!
