OK so my DH and I were selling his truck and a friend of ours offered to sell it for us in the area he lives in, beaumont.  well he sold it for $800 less than the asking price. There were a few things wrong with the truck. High mileage and broken motor on window. What kind of commission should we give him for selling the truck??  $500??  or less? or more??  TIA

How long did it take him to sell it?  Was he expecting a commission?  $500 seems kind of high to me, especially if it didn't take long to sell, but I don't know what the percentage it is to the selling price to compare.

well it took probably a month to sell it and i didn't even think about giving him a commission, my friend was the one that mentioned it. if i would have known he was expecting money, i wouldn't have let him sell it. we would have tried to sell it ourselves. i thought he was doing it as a favor.
