Please help! i'm leaking sooo much.

ok so i'm 23 weeks pregnant. this is my first. and i heard that expressing colostrum while pregnant wastes it.

but i'm leaking so stinking much. and i'm scared that i'm wasting all my colostrum! 

seriously i was cleaning today and i soaked through a shirt. it doesn't make sense..... grrr.

i guess this means bfing will probably be fairly easy for me ya? still tho.

is all my colostrum being wasted.

I leaked a lot while pregnant and still had colostrum for LO.

This made me LOL---not trying to be mean at all.

You aren't wasting colostrum.  Your body will keep making it and you will have enough for your baby.  While there is no correlation between leaking and successful BFing, I will tell you I started leaking around 23 weeks and have always had a great supply.

you'll make it until you give birth and the placenta separates from the uterus, which will signal your hormones to shift and the milk to begin to change from colostrum to mature breastmilk.

oh hey thats cool, i knew delivery made your milk start to produce but i didn't know it was actually the placenta. thats really awesome.

ya i'm not worried about actually running out of breast milk completely but of not having much colostrum.

i guess at least i know i'll be able to because there's plenty in there... haha. thanks ladies.
