What does everyone think of Abigail?

DH suggested it today. I know it's a top 10 name but I do find it to be a beautiful name and was happy with the suggestion, given some of his others....

Our other choice is Caroline.

    I'm biased because I have one. Popular, top 10 or not, it's a lovely classic.

    Abigail was our #1 choice for a while. Right now I would say it's our "close 2nd."

    I'm biased because I have an Abby as well.  It is popular, but she has not had another Abby in her class yet (2nd year of preschool this year).  Caroline is also very pretty.  I don't think you can go wrong with either.

    LOVE Abigail!  If we were having a girl it would def be her name, but we are having our second boy and are still nameless....and he will be here on Tuesday!

    I love it! It would be on our list except that DH has a cousin with this name (who we see quite often...it'd be awkward). Love the name though!

    I love Caroline but I also really like Abigail. Unfortunately for me, my husband doesn't like either name.

    In my small circle of friends, there are 3 Abigails. The name is everywhere, and while it is a nice name, I am thoroughly tired of it. Sorry.

    That's how I will try to pick her name. I would prefer it's just the name, like Caroline.

    If you used Caroline, would you pronounce it to be Caroline or to sound like Caro-lyn.  No nick names here!

    Caro-line. Like the song :)

    I'm sure Abigail would become Abby.

    I like Caroline with Carrie as a nickname.

    I dislike Abigail, it's so overdone and boring IMO.

    I think Abigail is a beautiful name. Growing up I only knew one Abigail through all my school years, but now I know several adults that have named their children Abigail in the last 2-3 years. It's clearly gaining popularity but if that doesn't bother you, go for it. I also like Caroline but I like Abigail more. You can't go wrong with either!
