is it just me or is this totally inappropriate?

When Ben was on that week-long business trip, he sent me a photo of a display in a store window - he was shocked because it was totally full of golliwog dolls.

I was surprised that there would be an entire display full of them (I could understand one here or there in an antiques store or something), but figured it was for shock value and couldn't possibly be a trend. But while I was browsing an ebay store this morning, looking for some children's books, I stumbled across a store section full of them.

Why are these dolls making a comeback? Who would buy these for their child???
