How do you know when to give Tylenol for teething?

Just in the past few days DD has been SOAKING the front of her shirt with her drooling and her nose has become stuffy as well. Teething? I'm thinking it could be as she's also chewing the heck out of Sophie and most things that she can get her hands on. Additionally, DH had teeth as of four months I found out tonight from his mom so maybe this really is teething for her? How do I know when to give her some Tylenol to help her out (she was fussy off and on tonight) or when not to? Obviously I don't want to give it to her if it's not teething because then It'd be for nothing...How to tell the difference??

  • This is why we use the teething tablets.  They are homeopathic so there is no medicine in them so I feel comfortable giving them to DS if I suspect his discomfort is from his teeth but I'm not absolutely sure.  I only give Tylenol if he really, really seems uncomfortable and is super, super fussy.  The teething tablets help that in-between stuff where I can tell he's uncomfortable but he's not having a cow about it.

  • I give it to DD when she's really fussy and wont stop crying... and when none of her teethers or the usually magical frozen paci seem to work!

  • The teething tablets haven't worked for us, so when we've tried them (again), frozen thingies and just lots of comforting we'll give her Tylenol. We've done it twice it the past month maybe? Our dr said basically, if all else fails and you think she's in teething pain, one dose of Tylenol isn't going to hurt and may really help.

    This!

I'll only give it before bed to help her through the night, during the day I'll give her frozen washcloths...
