Cloth Diapering

Yeast issues with CD

Hi mamas

My daughter keeps getting yeast rashes.  Whenever she is in sposies, it is not a problem, but whenever I put her back in cloth, it comes back.

Is there something I should do to make sure her diapers are disinfected?  I normally wash them in hot water on the heaviest cycle but I'm wondering if they need something more to get rid of the yeast.

I have BG 3.0s and prefolds and Thirsties covers.

Re: Yeast issues with CD

  • Yes - you need to kill the yeast that is now in the CDs! Just wash them with 1/4 bleach and do some hot rinses, then dry on hot. It won't discolor BG or thirsties covers but will whiten your PFs. Also make sure to keep her in sposies for a week or so after the rash is clear because the yeast spores remain on the skin for a while. GL!
