I was watching TV last night and Baby T was moving around a lot. I was staring at my belly and saw a bulge in my belly, immediately followed by a cracking/popping sound. I thought it was strange, but didn't give it much thought. Well, it happened again today at work, following a pretty strong kick/punch! I don't feel any discomfort, though. From my Google searches, it seems that some women have this during the 3rd tri, but, while their doctors and midwives may have theories, they don't exactly know what it is.
Just curious if anyone else experienced this, too.
ETA: Since it's not causing me any discomfort, I'm not worried about it. I'll bring it up at my next appt on the 20th and see what my OB thinks.
Re: Cracking/Popping belly sounds
I've never heard of this - how weird! And no one seems to agree on a theory about what's causing it?
Is it actually coming from your belly? It's not hip joints or something?
I know, right!? That's why I was wondering if anyone here has experienced it, too.
I heard it again a little while ago as I sat motionless in front of the laptop. Baby started shifting around again and there it was. I'm convinced it's coming from my belly. I thought maybe it was my pelvis or hip joints popping, but I usually feel pressure before a pop. I'm definitely mentioning it to my doctor next time I see her.
So strange! Definitely mention it to your doc. I wonder if it could be some kind of air bubble popping (I don't know how or why, just trying to think of what could make that noise)? Do you feel anything at all when you hear the noise or is it just the sound?
Hm, yeah, I haven't heard of anything like this either, but maybe it is your pelvic bone cracking...do you feel any of your bones pop when it happens or do you just hear it?
I wouldn't worry too much for now but yeah, it's good that you'll be bringing it up with your dr.
