I think around 12 weeks is best. I just let them know I was expecting a baby on such-and-such date and made sure to act very happy/excited about it while telling them. I never had a problem.
I told after a good 8w3d u/s. I had bad m/s and was sick of hiding it. I went in his office and said "Steve and I are expecting a baby" - his eyes went huge. He's been afraid of me ever since. lol

I have my second appointment at 12 weeks, and I plan to tell my boss that week after the appointment. I hope that we will be able to sit down for a few minutes and discuss my maternity leave and my schedule once I return to work.
I told her around 5 weeks which was way sooner that I had planned but I was having some spotting and wanted her to know in case I needed some time off if something were to happen given my previous loss I was very nervous that this might not be a sticky baby. However, I've worked at the same place for awhile and we're all like family so I knew she would take it well.
Not sure yet. He's been looking at my stomach lately so I think he either suspects it or thinks my diet & exercise is slipping (we trade workout & food notes a lot). I had to tell him when I miscarried this summer as it happened during work hours and I disappeared. Ever since, he's been much more attentive to how I'm doing and what's going on with me. It's a little disarming since I like my privacy but at the same time I appreciate his concern.
I'm thinking I'll tell him after our next u/s unless I feel the need to before then.
Coworkers (my managers already know) will be
told after my 12 week appointment next week as long as we get to hear
the heart beat and everything else goes well.
I would've told
others by now but I've had almost non stop spotting from week 6 to week
9ish (i've gone the past 2 weeks with no spotting so i am cautiously
excited about that).
I wouldn't have told my managers (I work in a
restaurant) yet but because of the spotting I did since I had to go on
strict bedrest for a week. I'm glad I told them now because of how nice
and caring they've been. They are usually a group of hard @sses to be
completely honest, it's like they did a complete 180 since I told them
the news.
I hate (hate!HATE!) my boss, so I don't want tell him (he'll burst my happy bubble), but I want to tell [some of] my cooworkers, so i'll probably start telling people after my U/S at 13 weeks if everything goes well....
My bosses don't have offices - it's a newsroom setting so everyone's out in the open. We have gone completely public but I still didn't feel comfortable telling them amidst the crowds so I asked them if they had a minute to chat and we met in the conference room.
My boss is totally on to me...I am going to tell her at 13 weeks if I can hold out but I feel like she is going to ask me before then. I think she'll be excited for us...
I'm not telling until my boss figures it out. I've already told my best friend at work and he's not spilling. I had to tell really early with DS because of job hazards, now I have a different job, no hazards!
I had no choice, I had to tell, lol. I'm running to the bathroom constantly with morning sickness. My coworkers have been really sympathetic, though. I now have my very own trash can in case of emergencies. We still need an u/s to get the edd thanks to crazy irregular periods, so really planning FMLA hasn't really happened yet, although I've been able to talk to HR and get the process started.
