Mom's of potty trained boys

Do your boys make it through the night without wetting the bed?  DS tries but last night he wet the bed twice!  Once in the middle of the night and then again this morning.  Most nights he can get through but at least twice a week, sometimes three, he wets the bed.  He doesn't want to wear pullups anymore and we constantly encourage and praise him, even when he wets the bed, because he's just not waking up in time to make it to the bathroom.

So when does this finally stop?  The bedwetting?

Re: Mom's of potty trained boys

  • I still have a pull up on him at night but he wakes up dry 99.9% of the time.  He has been like that for awhile though, so I think it depends on the child.
  • I got lucky in that he's been night-trained since he day-trained (@34 mos).

These may be too big for him, but what about those GoodNights shorts since he doesn't want a diaper?

  • Yep.  Mine night trained at the same time he PTed (2.5).  DD did not but would wear a night time pull up.

  • DS is wet more mornings than he is dry. We have him in pull-ups still at night. He just sleeps so soundly that he doesn't wake up to pee. Our pedi remains unconcerned.

  • DS potty trained at 2.5 years, but now at 3 years, 3 months has just refused to wear the pullup.  He's 75% good.  It doesn't bother me in the least.  I expect another 6 months or longer of changing sheets.

  • My DS will be 4 next month and is still wet every single morning.  We use GoodNights.  He's been day trained since 2.5, but not even close for nighttime.
  • Evan has been potty trained since 2.5.  He's 4.5 now and still wakes up soaked.  We limit his fluids before bed and have him pee right before bed.  And sometimes I hear him getting up to pee around 9:30-10:00.  Even so, he has a wet pullup in the morning.  He wanted to wear underwear once, so we tried it.  I checked on him at midnight, and he was totally soaked but sound asleep.  We had to wake him to change his clothes and the sheets, and he was not happy we woke him up.

I ask our ped at every checkup, and she's not concerned.

  • Every once in a while he will.  For instance, he peed BIG time during his nap the other day.  He must have REALLY been tired to not wake up to that flood!

  • Jake has been pt'd since Feb and he still wakes up wet about 99% of the time. We put him in a pull-up everynight.
  • DS has been pee trained since 24m and poop trained since 29 months.  Still wet 6 out 7 mornings.  Dry 3 times in the last 3 weeks.  He is 44 months.
