I just can't get over how different THIS pregnancy is from the one with DS. I had m/s as soon as I found out (which I'm assuming was around 4-5 wks) and it lasted to 12 wks. Not tired. Tons of bloat very early on, wanted to eat --but nothing sugary. Mainly wanted cheesy stuff. And was very very crampy.
This time I'm super tired but no real m/s anymore----don't feel much like eating and when I do I either want sugar or salt. Not a ton of bloat although I feel like I'm "widening" which is bizarre (like the hip area). And I'm beyond tired--not sure if it's b/c now I'm caring for a toddler or what. And I'm barely crampy anymore.
It really makes me curious if we're having a girl....and then on the other hand I also start worrying since most days I don't feel pregnant at all! I had my HcG done and it was over 3900 (and more than doubled) at 4 wks so I'm assuming all is ok---we'll see at first u/s in 2 wks. I can't wait!!!!
How is this pregnancy different than the previous for you??
Re: 2nd time mommies----1st vs 2nd pregnancy
I never ever had morning sickness with Alex and I am dealing with that on a daily basis. I am extremely tired all the time now. I have a feelign its a girl or twins.
I am eating better this time, I havent gained a lot yet. It seemed the minute i found out last time the weight just pilled on
I been walking, drinking more water this time around also. I am also way more relaxed having gone thru this before. I am not so worried.
Rachel and Jeff Married 5.29.05
Jason is 8
Elizabeth is 6
Katherine is 18 months
When my mom was pregnant with me, she was SURE I was a boy, because her pregnancy was identical to her first one (my brother) and her second pregnancy (my sister) was completely different. You can never tell based on your pregnancy experience!
I haven't experienced MS yet, either, but with my first pregnancy, I had it every day until I delivered.
This time around, my boobs are ridiculously tender, and I am gassing everyone out of the house
haha
Pregnancy # 6
4 missed chances
2 loving children
1 on the way
I'm still not in maternity clothes!!!! I was puking a lot for about 2 weeks. Plus, hello, I have popped already. It's uncomfortable to lay on my belly. I was able to do that last time until about 15-16 weeks.
I wouldn't really buy into the "I feel different, so this one is a different sex". This pregnany has been night and day different from my first. When I was pregnant with DS, I had no nausea and my boobs hurts so bad I felt like it was painful to even look at them. This time, I had terrible nausea all day and my boobs were never really sore.
I was positive I was having a girl. Not only because of the terrible nausea, but also because of how different I felt. However, much to my surprise, this one is also a boy. I've heard that every pregnancy is different and I definitely believe that now.
w/ ds#1 I had all day sickness from about 4 weeks till I gave birth. I was pretty tired most of the time. Had aversion to pretty much everything.
w/ ds#2 I was way more tired and had almost no m/s. I couldn't get enough bbq. His pg was way easier in almost all aspects.
This time around is somewhere in b/t. I'm having some m/s but not as bad as the 1st time. I'm craving tart things
Well, I'm only 6 weeks, but so far it's been a lot different. The only symptoms I have had is being tired and the hunger pains. Last time I had extreme MS and sensitivity to smell. Also, I was a lot more tired. With my DD I didn't find out until I was 9 weeks pregnant, so maybe the symptoms will come later.
This one has been a lot different so far! I was bothered by some smells with DS - no smells bothered me this time. I was never sick with DS at all but this time I've been so queasy for a long time. I feel like I'm always sucking on ginger or sporting my oh so stylish sea bands. I'm already rocking my maternity pants and have been for a while now granted I started out this time with more weight but still I'm looking bigger every day now.
Mostly though I have been so unbelieveably tired this time around. My dr. warned me at my 7 wk appt. that 1 + 1 really equals 3 so be prepared to just be exhaused. He was so right!
Mine doesn't feel that different at all, sadly (though I agree with the extra tired part, but is most likely becuase of having another child). I have major morning sickness this time around, but i had it with my first as well. It started earlier this time (around week 5, if you can believe it!) and is still going strong at 10.5 weeks. i'm hoping this pregnancy is different than my first simply because I threw up until the day my daughter was born. I would love for this pregnancy to be different in that respect!
what most surprises me is how big I have gotten already! I'm only 10.5 weeks and already showing. And I've lost 15 lbs, so I know it's not because I've just gotten fat. Anyone else getting big so early on?
I feel EXACTLY the same as you, with the 1st AND 2nd pregnancy.
Haven't had my levels checked yet, but I admit. I am also concerned that maybe I was wrong??
This time is totally different from being pg with DS and my m/c. No sore boobs, no nausea, always tired, lots of cramping, and I have no appetitte. My m/c was a lot like being pg with DS, lots of nausea, always hungry, and minimal cramping.
