I have to pee...all the time

Ok, seriously, I feel like I have to pee all the time. Most of the time when I go it's not a whole lot either. I know increased urination is a symptom but I am beginning to wonder if I have a UTI or something, it seems a bit early for this much peeing. It doesn't hurt, it just feels like I go more than I should. Any thoughts?

Re: I have to pee...all the time

  • I feel that way too.  It can happen really early in pregnancy because of the hormone changes.  It's possible you have a UTI but if you are not in pain, you probably don't.

  • I had a UTI once and it was super painful and miserable. I have to pee all the time too, and I used to be able to go long periods without having to...the worst is during the night. I hate waking up and having to get out of bed!

Of course, everyone is different...but there would probably be some other symptoms if you had a UTI.

I have to disagree with Iris here (and that never happens!!). In pregnancy you can get what they call a "silent" UTI and it can have bad consequences. My mom worked for an OB for years and told me this. They make tester strips for this and sell them at Walmart under the AZO brand. I think Blondie actually had one she didn't know about when we were on the tri boards.

Yep that is why I said it is possible that she has one.  Sorry if my post was confusing.

OP, call your doctor if you are concerned or get the test strips Patty mentioned.

I just got over a silent one that didn't make itself known until it turned into a bladder infection. If you are really worried do the test strips like Patty mentioned.

Wow, I learned something new today. Never heard of a silent UTI. I love it when I'm surrounded by people who are smarter than me :)

  • I picked up one of those AZO tests and it showed positive for the white blood cells and negative for the nitrate...so probably not a UTI but I have an infection somewhere. I guess I am going to email my doctor about it and drink cranberry juice.
